The producer, Jonathan, has gathered a solid reputation in the international music industry. With his alias J. Axel he has released deep house music as well as touring as a DJ, critically acclaimed by South African music scene. He has also released an shoegaze album under his alias ”TLS” on the highly respected Imperial Recordings (who release artists like José Gonzalez, Promise and the Monster & Zeigeist).

The writer & singer, Anna, has her roots in both jazz and the electronic music scene and have been feathured on numeros releases over the years. As a singer/songwriter she also release her own magnificent music under her real name, Anna Foxdal.

Together, they formed Piren in 2022, but this is not their first encounter. In early 2000’s Jonathan made a remix for Anna and since then, they have both been on eachothers radar. Good things come to those who wait, so when they bumped in to eachother in 2021, they started exploring what a proper colaboration would sound like, now with years of experience. And now… Piren is formed!
